1866.8.25 Kutaro's parents, Kyuzaemon, age 29, and Yae, age 23 are married.

1867.2.20 Kutaro's oldest brother, Kijiroo, is born. He never marries.

1871.4.13 Kutaro's oldest sister, Tsurugame, is born.

1874.4.8  Kutaro's brother Kitinosuke is born.

1877.5.7 Kutaro's sister Sue is born

1881.2.24 Kutaro is born. His grandfather, Kyugorou dies this year.

1886.10.6 Kutaro's only younger brother, Kyuemon is born. He never has children.

1889.12.5 Kutaro's oldest brother dies at age 22. Now Kitinosuke is the oldest son.

1890.4 Kutaro begins school at age 9, Izumi.

1892.4.3 Kutaro graduates from primary school, age 12

1894 Shigeo, Madarame's only son is born. 150,000 Japanese invade the Manchu empire in Korea.

1898.3.27 Kutaro graduates from the prefecture upper school, age 16.

1900 Kutaro receives first draft notice, age 20.

1901 Kutaro receives conscription notice, but is deferred.

1902-1903 Kutaro attends Kagoshima School, Meiji Gikae.

1903.3.31 Kutaro Graduates from high school in Tokyo, age 22.

1904.5.7 Kutaro changes his name from Tateno to Nishimuta.

1905.2.28 Letter of exemption from draft to attend University, age 24.

1905.7.5 Passport issued. Upon arrival in San Francisco, ship is turned back due to medical problems. He returns to Japan, then back to San Francisco.

1905.9.23 "Disinfected" at Yokohama

1906.4.18 San Francisco Earthquake

1907 Diary begins in San Francisco, where he is living in Episcopal mission, studying English from Bible.

1907.2 - Decides to go to Nebraska

1907.3.9 Departs SF on train

1915.2.18 Married in Council Bluffs Iowa, one year after meeting.

1915.10.3 Joseph born in Oconee, Platte Co, NE, near Columbus. Small settlement of Japanese

1916.10.22 Mary born in Oconee.

1917 Move to Cushing, Uchi Creek area.

1919.2.20 Francis born in Cushing.

1920 Nishimuta's in National Census in Payne Co, OK

1920.5.4 Grace born

1922.7.25 Margaret born

1924.2.12 Kutaro's mother, Yae, dies. Nishimutas move to Ryan farm, Cushing, 5 miles N of Uchi creek.

1924.3.16 Paul born.  Kiemon, the half-brother who adopted Kutaro, dies at age 63.

1926.1.24 James is born.

1931 Kutaro's oldest sister, Turugami, dies

1932.12.8 Robert is born. Kutaro is 52, Louisa is 42.

1933 Family moves to Schlegel farm near Cushing.

1934 Mary in Maryknoll

1938 Grace and Francis graduate from Cushing HS.

1939.10 Family moves to Okmulgee

1940.2.5 Frank and Fern married in Cushing, Payne Co, OK.

1940.12.6 Joseph and Maxine married in Chandler, Lincoln Co, OK.

1941.9.18 Kutaro's first grandchild, Theodore is born.

1943 Paul graduates High School

1945.3.25 100th BN and 442nd assigned to 5th Army, IV Corps, 92d Infantry in Pisa. Paul is in 100th BN (1st BN, Co B).
