Thanksgiving...
The meadow grass bows to
the wind, gently
blowing. The sycamore
trees let
go their autumn
scenting. The days may
grow cold, but summer's
warmth is still within.
Cabinet shelves have plenty, the
crops in the fields healthy. Good
friends are over to share this
Thanksgiving, Bringing baskets full of
cheese, mince and chutney. We all remember
Thanksgiving's true meaning, as we gabble and talk
and lean on
the oven. We worked hard yesterday, tomorrow
again. Today we'll just live, and
have a magnificent Thanksgiving.
Bless aunties, uncles, leaders, friends,
teachers, Foreigners, military
men, houses, churches, jobs, travels. Oh, don't grownups have
long prayers!
Smiling and praising the chef de cuisine. For his amazing feat of
dinner
for one hundred. The talk is chatter of exciting and future things. We
give thanks for what is to be. Thanksgiving day - a joyous feast:
A Day to be thankful For all that we are blessed to
have,
do and be.
